What is members.endurance.biz?
This site, members.endurance.biz, is a subscription service from the teams at endurance.biz and MultiSport Research. This site’s mission is to foster knowledge and insights for all brands active in the world of endurance sport.
The new subscription site is based on a dataset of 2,000 social media profiles across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook.
The members.endurance.biz site features extensive data & insights to help endurance sport industry players benchmark their own brand and build their brand impact on social media.
There are currently three main components for subscribers, which are updated each month:
Top performing posts: showcasing the latest endurance sport posts on social media that are resonating with the athlete community.
Online dashboards interactive online data for subscribers to view and rank top performing brands, and to view the top posts on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook
Off-line data downloads: an Excel data download for subscribers to filter and sort data metrics, i.e., comparing their own brand with those of key competitors.
What are the top performing posts?
Each month, tracking 600+ endurance sport brands, across 2,000 social media profiles, subscribers can view the top 200 posts, per social platform, that have engaged most strongly with the endurance sport community.
These top 200 posts are ranked according to their impact across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook.
The top posts change each month – as brands run social media campaigns, invest in boosting particular posts, and, in some cases, witness a viral impact on social media.
Subscribers to the members.endurance.biz site can view a ranking for each social platform, with imagery and summary text of the post. They can also click on each individual post to view it online.
Also in the online dashboard, via separate sections, subscribers can:
• Sort the top posts, i.e., by total number of reactions or by post interaction rate; and
• View a separate tiled, icon view, of the top posts.
What data metrics can I access as a subscriber?
The online dashboards and off-line data downloads provide comprehensive data metrics. These are updated each month for all brands included in the main dataset, across 2,000 social media profiles.
Key metrics include:
Fans / followers: total number following as at month-end
Engagement (%): average interactions over the month, per follower total
Post interaction rate (%): average interactions, per post
Interactions per impression/view: average number of likes, comments, etc.
Reactions, comments & shares: sum of interactions on posts in the month
Views / impressions: total views of posts, during the month
Follower growth, average weekly (%): percentage change over the month
Number of posts: sum of posts, videos, etc., published in the month
Posts per day: average number of posts per day over the month
Page Performance Index: a score for a social media profile, from 0 to 100.
For each metric, a more detailed explanation (including a summary of its benefits) can be found in the online data dashboards.
How is the data organised?
The main dataset features 600+ endurance sport brands, across 2,000 social media profiles. Data is organised into three main categories:
Events: run, cycling, OCR, triathlon, other
Gear: shoes, apparel, bikes, accessories, wetsuits, nutrition, other
Training: apps, wearables, training tools, coaches, media, other
Each month, subscribers gain access to three online dashboards – (1) events, (2) gear, and (3) training – with each online dashboard providing a cross-platform view of all data metrics.
The cross-platform view summarises all social media platforms: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook.
There is an all-platform overview for all platforms combined, followed by data being presented separately for each of the main social media platforms in turn.
Each month, the Excel data download mirrors the data found in the online dashboard. It allows filtering according to particular brands of interest. The Excel data file features separate tabs, organising the data as follows:
All cross platform
Events
Gear
Training
Instagram
Facebook
TikTok
YouTube
How can I use the data?
There are many ways that subscribers can use the data & insights on members.endurance.biz each month.
Top performing posts
By viewing the top performing posts, you can see which posts are resonating most with athletes. Remember that the top posts will change each month.
Scroll through the top performing posts areas in all the online dashboards to understand what types of posts are doing well.
Use the ‘Top 200 Posts – Filter and Sort’ area in the online dashboards to sort according to (1) the number of reactions or (2) the post interaction rate percentage. Pay attention to large brands (with a large social following) as well as smaller brands to see what is generating the most traction online.
You can also use the filter function to look up posts based on keywords, hashtags or profile name.
Click on individual posts in the dashboards to view the original video / imagery / text. Check out the comments on the original posts too, to get a sense of why that post has resonated.
Check out competitors, as well as brands in entirely different areas, to understand how large and small brands are engaging with their audiences online.
Having viewed posts in a given month, make a note of some creative ideas for the types of posts that would best fit with your own social strategy. This might involve: leveraging your own sponsored athletes, impactful photography, competitions, etc.
Online data dashboards
Click to view the three main online dashboards: (1) Gear; (2) Events and (3) Training.
In each metrics tab, mouse over the column heading – (i) symbol – to get a detailed explanation of each given metric.
Make sure you read the ‘Benefit’ paragraph in each metric explanation to better understand the metrics to focus on. For example, Page Performance Index (PPI) can be used to compare your own profile with competitor profiles.
Take a note of the metric(s) you are focusing on. Compare the latest month to previous months to understand how your own brand is stacking up. Having viewed the Top Performing Posts, and built ideas for your own social activation, set some targets for your own profile, i.e. target post interaction rates.
Use the data dashboards to track how well you are hitting your targets and performing versus your competitors, or a control group of other brands.
Excel data downloads
Click to download the latest monthly data for offline analysis. (Upload to your own Google Drive and convert to a Google Sheet if preferred, rather than working with an Excel file directly.)
The data download has all data at a glance. Here, to build a deeper focus on key metrics, you can filter the data. You may wish to filter & focus on particular brands of interest, or filter data by metrics (e.g., filtering by brands with an engagement rate greater than 10%).
Click on each brand name in the profile column to view that brand’s social media profile online. Again, as with the Top Performing Posts steps outlined above, you can view each profile in turn to understand how top performers are making a success of their social strategy.
Can I share data from my subscription with others?
All data is for the use of subscribers only and cannot be shared with third parties.
An annual or monthly subscription to members.endurance.biz grants you a single company user license. For the avoidance of doubt, the single company user license applies to the organisation, as invoiced as part of the endurance.biz member subscription.
The single company user license gives the subscriber the right to utilize and circulate endurance.biz member data & insights within its own organisation only.
Under a single company user license, a subscriber can use the endurance.biz member data & insights for ordinary business purposes. This would typically involve the use of the data for the preparation of internal business reports, such as business plans.
Ordinary business purposes may also include the use of excerpts of the data. Such excerpts may be presented or shared with a third party organisation such as a client or a prospect. Although, for the sharing of excerpts with any third party, endurance.biz requires that you provide it with advance notification via email; and endurance.biz has the right to withhold approval for any sharing of the data.
Can I get a free trial?
Unfortunately, the members.endurance.biz site is not currently set-up to allow free trial access.
Given the amount of data that can be accessed for a single month alone, we recommend starting with a monthly subscription to get a feel for how the data can be used within your business.
A monthly subscription is priced at US$99, giving access to the latest month’s data. This can be cancelled or paused at any time.
Can I upgrade from a monthly to annual subscription?
Absolutely. The easiest way to do this is to contact us via email.
For existing monthly subscribers upgrading to an annual subscription, we will credit the monthly fee paid (US$99) towards the upgraded annual subscription (US$499). So, an upgrading subscriber would pay the balancing US$400 to access all data and insights for 12 months.
